The Decision Data Displaywindow II, Model IS-486 is a versatile, cost-effective, 14 inch tilt and swivel high resolution color display monitor for Twinax environments. It is plug compatible with the IBM® 3486 model. The IS-486 offers a powerful set of standard features plus many valuable options. It is designed to enhance individual as well as system productivity. It is technically advanced, yet easy-to use.

Superior ergonomic design
The Decision Data IS-486 is an easy-to-use, easy-on-the-operator display, with high quality evident in its physical design and performance. Its 14-inch, high resolution monitor features a small footprint, tilt and swivel movement, and a non-glare screen. The IS-486 is available with green, amber, and paper white monitors. It comes with a standard slim-profile 122-key keyboard. Its design integrates the display and logic units into one ergonomic package for easier installation and fewer shipping boxes and costs.

Efficient multiple screen display
Workstation efficiency gets a boost with the IS-486. The IS-486 can be configured to have up to three display sessions and one printer session. The unit also supports split-screen, simultaneous display of a reference screen with the active screen. The user can paste data from the active screen to the reference screen, where it can be saved or cleared for future reference, or pasted to other applications.

Unique "Limited Lifetime Warranty"
The IS-486 is backed by a limited lifetime warranty in the United States. Both the logic unit and keyboard components are warranted for life to the original end user purchaser. The monitor includes a 3 year, full factory warranty. All service and warranty for the 486 under this program is covered via Decision Data's new Advance Exchange Program. Other warranty program are available world wide.

Versatile printing capabilities
The integrated parallel port enables a low-cost printer to be attached directly to the display, for both host-addressable and local printing.You can select one of several pre-defined printer configurations, including Epson, HP LaserJet, and IBM. Or, use the Printer Definition Utility (PDU) to configure a user-defined printer. The PDU enables the user to change ASCII translation tables and add or delete printer commands.

Enhanced productivity tools
Execution of routine tasks are quicker and easier with the IS-486. The type-ahead buffer and a 4,000-keystroke record/playback function enable simplified data input. Information is easily formatted with full column tabulation. Productivity tools include an enhanced online calculator with import/export capabilities, screen cut-and-paste, presentation space, and the ability to mark unprotected fields.

Simplified data collection
The IS-486 is available with an optional integrated Keyboard Interface Module (KIM) for either bar-code reader or magnetic stripe reader support.
